When surveyed, approximately 51% of Chief Financial Officers stated that their greatest concern when staff uses social media in the workplace is that the behavior is unproductive and unprofessional. Fifty-one percent of CFO’s believe that visiting sites such as Facebook and Twitter is a “waste of time and unprofessional.”

On the other hand, when questioned as to the greatest benefits of using social media, seventy percent of CFO’s noted it could be used to enhance customer service, networking, and company image.

So, the next time your employer finds you tweeting at work, make sure you have a viable explanation as to how it can benefit your company.
